About ToolForUser
ToolForUser is a collection of 20 free online tools for working with images, PDF files, data formats and everyday calculations.
How the tools work
Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and send the result back. ToolForUser works differently: the tools are small programs that run inside your web browser. When you choose a file, the browser reads it from your device, the tool processes it in memory, and the result is saved straight back to your device.
That has three practical benefits: your documents are not sent to anyone, there is no waiting for uploads, and once a tool has finished loading, processing does not depend on your internet connection. The only network traffic is the download of the website itself (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the code libraries the tools need) and, if advertising is enabled on the site, the requests made by the advertising provider. Details are in the privacy policy.
What you can do here
- Image Tools – Compress, resize, convert, crop, rotate and flip JPG, PNG and WebP images directly in your browser. No uploads, no sign-up, free.
- PDF Tools – Merge, split, reorder and rotate PDF pages or turn images into a PDF in your browser. Files stay on your device. Free, no sign-up.
- Developer Tools – Format and validate JSON, encode and decode Base64 and URLs, calculate SHA-256 hashes and test regular expressions. Runs locally in your browser.
- Calculators & Everyday Tools – Count words and characters, calculate the days between dates, work out percentages, convert units and create QR codes. Free and private.
Principles
- Local processing first. A tool is only added if it can do its job in the browser without sending your data to a server.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no usage limits beyond what your device can handle.
- Honest descriptions. Each tool page explains what the tool does, how to use it and what it cannot do.
- Accessible and lightweight. Pages work with a keyboard, adapt to phones and tablets, support dark mode and only load the code a tool needs when you open it.
Open-source components
The tools rely on browser features (Canvas, Web Crypto, Web Workers) and these open-source libraries:
- pdf-lib (MIT) – reading and writing PDF files
- PDF.js (Apache-2.0) – rendering PDF page previews
- fflate (MIT) – creating ZIP archives
- qrcode-generator (MIT) – QR code encoding
- React (MIT) – user interface
These libraries are served from this website, not from third-party CDNs.
Costs and advertising
The tools are free. To cover hosting and development costs, the site may show advertising. Ads are kept separate from the tools: they are never placed inside a tool panel, and they cannot see the files or text you process.
